  • Why has this partnership been established?
    Microsoft industry certification; is highly regarded by information technology professionals and potential employers. To be certified demonstrates an ability to implement a product or technology as part of a business solution in an organisation.

    The partnership has been established to provide past and present TAFE students with the option to further enhance their IT skills; whilst adding to their nationally recognised certificate or diploma.

  • Who is involved?
    TAFE NSW Hunter Institute Business and Computing Faculty has partnered with Forsythes IT & Training to provide Microsoft Certification training to TAFE's current and past (Alumni) IT students.

    Forsythes IT & Training is Australia's only regional Certified Partner for Learning Solutions (CPLS).

    The Faculty of Business and computing maintains strong industry links with a diverse range of public and private sector businesses and provides courses comprising nationally endorsed competency standards which can be customized to meet industry needs.

  • What does the partnership provide to me?
    Eligible participants will receive Microsoft accredited training to prepare for one of the following certifications.
         Microsoft Certified Professional - Windows XPExam 070-270
         Microsoft Certified Professional - Server 2003Exam 070-290
         Microsoft Certified Desktop Support TechnicianExam/s 070-271, 070-272

    Participants will also receive
    • Microsoft official curriculum
    • One on one mentoring from a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), with extensive industry experience.
    • Microsoft exam/s voucher
    • Measure Up 180 day Web based practice exam
    • Telephone and E-mail support from trainer
    • Optional two weeks work experience* on completion of vendor exam
    * Only available to current TAFE NSW Hunter Institute students only.

  • Can I get these benefits anywhere else?
    No. These additional benefits are only available through this partnership and are exclusive to past and current IT students.

  • Am I Eligible?
    If you are a current student studying Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Desktop Support or Networking at TAFE NSW Hunter Institute, then YES you are eligible.

    If you have completed your Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Information Technology with any TAFE NSW Institute including the Hunter Institute, then YES you are eligible.

  • How much does the training offer cost?
    The all inclusive cost of the program is $2250 for current students, $2350 for past (Alumni) students?

    To assist current TAFE students a staged installment payment process is available.

  • How do I enroll?
    To enroll in the program you must fax or mail a completed enrolment form with a copy of your latest academic transcript and current student card (if applicable) to:

    Current student status will be checked and a course confirmation and payment plan schedule will be sent to your student email account once confirmed by TAFE NSW Hunter Institute.

  • When and where is the training delivered?
    The training model has been designed to be as flexible as possible with participants able to attend as little as one day a week or as many as five days a week for a maximum of 10 training days. Participants are able to nominate which month they wish to commence their course.

    Participants must give 48 hours notice if they cannot attend their selected day of training and the days available are subject to change with notice and reschedule options available.

    Training is delivered at Forsythes IT & Training facilities located at 9 Denison Street Newcastle West.
