Sanitarium Health Foods
Dale Williams - General Manager, Commercial
When Sanitarium Health Foods decided to upgrade their enterprise Office software from Office 2000 to Office 2007,
they approached Forsythes Training to arrange short, targeted training courses for staff across Australia.
"Forsythes Training worked with us to develop a training solution tailored to meet our needs",
says Dale Williams, Sanitarium’s General Manager Commercial. "We needed busy staff to come up to speed with the
new software in minimum time, and avoid inundating our service desk with first level support calls".
Forsythes developed two-hour familiarisation courses in Word and Excel, the most commonly used applications at Sanitarium.
The pilot was initially attended by IT support and service desk staff for feedback and assessment. The refined courses were
then offered on a rotating roster over three instalments in September 2007, Feb 2008 and May 2008, as the new Vista/Office
2007 Standard Operating Environment (SOE) was deployed across Australia and New Zealand. Participants were required to
attend at least one of the training sessions before receiving the new SOE.
Forsythes Training successfully co-ordinated and delivered training to over 450 participants at Berkeley Vale, Brisbane,
Adelaide and Melbourne. At the end of the project, a total of almost 600 Australian staff will have been trained.
"The courses were professionally run, tailored to our users’ requirements, and positively received", says Mr Williams.
"We were happy with the outcomes, and are very likely to work with Forsythes on similar programs in the future".

Austar Coalmine
Steven Chandler - Production Superintendent
"Austar decided as part of our OH&S regulations that all employees supervising a team of
people were required to hold the Certificate IV in Business Frontline Management. Last year 38
out of 40 enrolled employees graduated with their Certificate IV in Frontline Management from
Forsythes Training. We have another 18 employees enrolled in the program so far in 2008 with
another group ready to commence when the existing group graduate.
We believe the program has been extremely beneficial for our staff and has encouraged team work
and a significant change in the attitudes and performance of team leaders. The course has also
enabled further career advancements for many graduates.
To minimise workflow interruptions, Forsythes worked closely with us to fit in with our needs,
employees shifts, and modules were modified to suit our specific workplace environment. We
found the course facilitators extremely professional and thorough."

Wesley Uniting Employment
Stephen Dooker - Resources Manager
"We sponsored two groups for Certificate IV in Business Frontline Management in two separate
areas within NSW. Forsythes Training went above and beyond our expectations, with a very high commitment
to quality, flexibility and service, whilst providing our participants an early completion option
in under 9 months, normally a 24 month course.
Our participants have now all moved into various types of management positions enabling them to
directly utilise the skills gained with positives outcomes on all levels.
One of the groups submitted a proposal on 'improvement in systems' which has been readily accepted
and will be trialled and utilised within the organisation. This sits very much in line with our
current needs to drive performance and also our future business needs.
Another participant, Jodie, has been nominated for the 2008 Trainee of the Year. Jodie commented that
the Forsythes trainer allowed her to feel comfortable to participate in class room discussions and has
given her the confidence to take the training back to the workplace and question issues she would normally
have backed away from. Jodie challenges herself to continually improve."
